Investigation ongoing into second Gafoors fire

An investigation is ongoing into the fire which ravaged parts of the Gafoors Houston Complex, East Bank Demerara on Monday night; the second in four months.

According to reports, the fire once again began in the same section of the bond where the May fire started. The area is being used to store tiles and construction materials.

Last night’s fire did not see as much damage as the May fire; something which was credited to the quick response of the Guyana Fire Service (GFS).
