WI A level series with crushing 333-run win
West Indies A recorded a comprehensive 333-run over Sri Lanka A to win the second unofficial ‘Test’ in Pallekele and level the three-match series.
The hosts, chasing a mammoth 481, were skittled out for 147 after resuming the day on 36-2. They were in danger of being dismissed for below 100 after being reduced to 77-7.
Kemar Roach, Delorn Johnson, Gudakesh Motie and Keon Joseph all picked up two wickets each. Jeffrey Vandersay, batting at number none, topscored with 47 and Charith Asalanka made 34.
Final scores in the match: West Indies A 509-9 declared (Vishaul Singh 161, Jahmar Hamilton 99, Rajendra Chandrika 84, Charith Asalanka 4-104) and 216-3 declared (Rajendra Chandrika 68, Jahmar Hamilton 56*, Shamarh Brooks 53*) Sri Lanka A 245 all out (Niroshan Dickwella 88, Dimuth Karunaratne 68, Rakheem Cornwall 6-91, Keon Joseph 2-39) and 147 all out (Jeffrey Vandersay 47, Charith Asalanka 34, Delorn Johnson 2-13, Kemar Roach 2-24, Keon Joseph 2-30, Gudakesh Motie 2-33).
Sri Lanka A won the first Test by seven wickets. The third and final match will start on October 18 in Dambulla.
