Man arrested in connection with unlicensed firearm & 12 rounds found in girlfriend’s yard

A 34-year-old miner of Providence, East Bank Demerara is assisting the police in their investigation into the discovery of an unlicensed firearm and twelve rounds of ammunition at “War Lock” East Ruimveldt, Georgetown.

The discovery was made during the early hours this morning.

Enquiries disclosed a team of police acting on information, swooped down at the location about 00:30 hrs this morning where the suspect was standing in his girlfriend’s yard.

It was alleged that the suspect dropped an object, which was retrieved and found to be a 9MM Pistol with twelve matching rounds.
