Bishoo’s 8-49 leaves Windies with target of 346
Guyanese leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo picked up the fifth-best bowling figures by a West Indian, claiming 8-49, as West Indies were left with a target of 346 to win the first Test against Pakistan in Dubai.
Bishoo finished the match with 10-174 as Pakistan folded for 123 in their second innings after West Indies were bowled out in the morning session for 357 in response to Pakistan’s 579-3 declared.
With a session and a day to spare, West Indies have time on their hand to pull off a brilliant win and go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
Earlier, Yasir Shah became the second fastest man to 100 Test wickets, bagging 5-121.
