Canteen operator stabbed to death by reputed husband

A woman was this afternoon stabbed to death by her “child father” at approximately 13:20 hrs.

 

Dead is Yansen Brusche, 38 years of Lot 20 Ulverston Village, Corentyne Berbice.

 

Shop owner, Beverly Green, disclosed that she saw Yansen walking into the shop and shortly after the woman’s ex- lover, identified as Winston Benjamin aka ‘Blood’ following behind.

 

She related that, “I ask Yansen is wa happen to yall two now and she tell me gyul only god and the law gon deal with Him”. It was then ‘Blood’ whipped out a knife and plunged it several times into Yansen’s, the News Room was told.

 

Green said she grabbed onto the irate man in a bid to keep him from escaping while Yansen ran to the side of the shop and collapsed.

 

According to the Sister, Roxanne Brusche, she heard screams and quickly rushed over to the scene, only to see her ex brother- in -law with a knife in his hand and blood on his skin with the shop owner holding onto Him.

 

Benjamin managed to escape from the grasps of Green and fled the scene with the murder weapon in hand.

 

According to Police sources he escaped into the Ulverston, Backdam where ranks are presently combing.

 

The woman was picked up and rushed to Port Mourant Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

 

The dead woman was a canteen operator at the Alness Primary School. Residents also told the News Room that couple once shared a rocky relationship and bore four children together. She was described as a jovial and a helpful individual.

 

Investigations are ongoing.
