One arrested for killing Mahaicony businesswoman

The Police in ‘C’ Division have arrested a male suspect in connection with the brutal killing of a Mahaicony Businesswoman this morning at her home.

Dead is 56-year-old Bibi Ally of lot 6, Novar, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.

News Room understands that the woman’s body was discovered by her nephew at about 6:00hrs today with her hands tied and mouth gagged.

Divisional Commander, Marlon Chapman has disclosed that the suspect is from the same area in which the victim resided. He added that the motive of the gruesome murder is unclear, however, when the police arrived on the scene, the house was ransacked.

The police are presently relying on relatives to say if anything is missing from the woman’s home.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
