Fisherman confesses to killing Mahaicony businesswoman.

Police in ‘C’ Division have managed to get a confession from one of the two suspects who were arrested earlier in the week in connection with the brutal killing of a
Mahaicony businesswoman on Monday October 17,2016.
According to a reliable police source, the 24 year old fisherman who resides at Rosignol, West Coast Berbice and Goed Faith, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara after denying that he committed the crime, finally admit his involvement while providing the police with a detailed recount of the incident earlier today Friday, October 21,2016.
The fisherman was arrested on Tuesday, October 18,2016 after his name was mentioned as being in the company of a 14 year suspect who was arrested on the day the woman’s body was discovered.
However, the 14 year old was arrested after neighbours informed the police that he and the businesswoman had a heated argument several days prior to her death over coconuts.  According to the police he is still maintains that he had nothing to do with the woman’s death.
The 56 year old, deceased, Bibi Ally of Novar, Mahaicony was discovered in her home by her nephew at about 06:00 hours on Monday, October 17,2016 with her hands and feet tied along with marks of violence about her body.

The motive for the murder remains unclear but when police arrived at the scene the house was ransacked.
Investigations into the murder are ongoing.
