AK 47, ammunition seized in ‘E’ Division

Police in ‘E’ Division have retrieved a bag containing an AK 47 Rifle, two magazines and fifteen rounds of matching ammunition, fifteen.38 live rounds, thirty nine 9mm live rounds and twenty-one.223 live rounds and a magazine.

According to a police report, the items were retrieved from a house in the Linden/Kwakwani area.

The discovery was made after a 42-year-old citizen who was engaged in the process of “house cleaning” saw a haversack behind a wardrobe containing the items and informed the police.

The house is owned by persons residing overseas, however, it was rented to other persons prior to the discovery.

Investigations are ongoing.
