UPDATE; Police hunting suspect in Businessman’s robbery


Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery and wounding of Twenty-eight- year -old Rameez Mohamed, a director of the BM Soat Auto Sales.


According to the police, Mohamed had just exited his business located on Croal Street, Stabroek, Georgetown, when he was accosted by a lone gunman who attempted to relieve him of a bag he had in his possession.


The businessman attempted to thwart the efforts of the bandit by putting up a strong resistance after which the bandit whipped out a pistol and discharged a round in his direction, hitting him in the left thigh.


The man then escaped on a waiting CG motorcycle, with the bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash.


The victim was rushed to a private hospital where he was admitted and is in a stable condition.
