Divisional Commander, Senior Superintendent Karim Baksh has confirmed that two persons are now dead following an accident involving a route 72 minibus and a truck along the Linden/Soesdyke Highway.
The commander has confirmed that both of the vehicles were proceeding in the same direction when the minibus slammed into the Truck which was transporting logs, at Moblissa earlier tonight. However, he was unable to say whether the truck had on its tail lights at the time of the accident.
He further stated that the other persons are patients at the Linden Hospital Complex.
Police officers and other citizens who arrived at the scene tried to get the injured to the hospital as soon as possible, however, they were faced with the challenge of poor lighting in the area.
