Although several persons have been arrested and questioned, the Police in ‘B’ Division are still to make headway in its investigation of a recent incident in which an 8-year-old girl was hit in the leg by a stray bullet at her home.

According to the acting commander of ‘B’ Division, Kevin Adonis, ranks have so far arrested three persons who are said to be holders of licensed firearms, however, they were released after no useful information was disclosed to the investigators.

Adonis disclosed that the fragments retrieved from the girl’s leg would be sent for testing to determine whether or not it came from a licensed firearm.

News Room previously reported that the 8-year-old girl who resides with her parents, two houses away from the New Amsterdam Technical Institute was making her way down a flight of stairs just after 16:30 hours on Friday, October 28, 2016, when she was hit by the stray bullet which has since been removed from her leg.

Presently it is not clear as to which direction the bullet came. However, investigations are ongoing.
