The West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) selection panel has named Jason Mohammed to replace Darren Bravo for the upcoming one-day-international Tri-Nation series with Sri Lanka and hosts Zimbabwe.

The 30-year old, right-handed batting all-rounder, recently captained the West Indies A Team in a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka A in Sri Lanka. He was captain and one of the leading batsmen in the three-match series with scores of 105 not out, 58 and 14.

Bravo has been replaced due to inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour, which is contrary to his contractual obligations to the WICB.

The clause in his agreement (in clause 4.7.2.2 of your match/tour contract) states that players are  not to make any statement in or to any form of media (which shall include, without limitation, print media, television, radio, Internet or any social networking media), or any other public statement, which would bring yourself, WICB or any official or authorised representative of WICB or the game of cricket into disrepute and your agreement to use all such media in a responsible manner.

Leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo has been named to replace off-spinner Sunil Narine who has withdrawn from the squad for personal reasons.

Bishoo was the leading bowler for the West Indies in the recent Test Series against Pakistan in United Arab Emirates – where he took 18 wickets in the three matches.

The 31-year-old has so far played 13 ODIs, and taken 20 wickets at an average 23.8; with an economy rate of 4.28.
