Permaul, Motie spin Jaguars to first innings lead

Albion spin pair Veerasammy Permaul and Gudakesh Motie combined for nine wickets as Guyana Jaguars took first innings advantage over Jamaica Scorpions on day two of the opening round match in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Professional Cricket League Digicel Four-day tournament at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

The left-armers were outstanding as the Scorpions were bowled out for 208 in response to the Jaguars’ 298. By stumps, Guyana Jaguars, batting a second time, reached 26 without loss, a lead of 116 with two days remaining.

When Scorpions batted, Permaul claimed 5-60 and Motie 4-66 as the pair continued from where they left off last season. Opener John Campbell was the lone batsman to pass fifty, topscoring with 71, while Andre McCarthy chipped in with 36. (See scoreboard below)
