Suspect in custody for robbing Venezuelan

A 30 year old, unemployed male from Rubber Dam, Charity, Essequibo Coast, was this morning arrested for robbery committed on a Venezuelan National at a hotel in Charity.

It has been revealed that at about 03:00hrs this morning, 32 years old, Alexander Gregorio called ‘Alex’, of Portia Ortiz, Venezuela, was standing in the hotel’s lounge, when the suspect approached him and relieved the victim of his brown wallet, which was in his front pants pocket containing US$5,200, his passport, a galaxy cellular phone and escaped.

A report was made and quick response by the police resulted in the suspect being apprehended with some of the stolen articles (US$2,600.00 and the phone).

He is currently being processed for court.
