    18-year-old among four charged with murder of Berbice carpenter

    Four Berbicians have been remanded to prison when they appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for the murder of a carpenter almost a month ago, and dumping his body on the #70 Public Road.
    The accused appeared before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan and were not required to plea to the indictable charge.
    It is alleged that between October 31, 2016, and November 1, 2016, at #70 Village Corentyne Berbice, they murdered 27-year-old Faiyaz Narinedat of #70 Village Corentyne Berbice.

    Among those charged are 39-year-old RadeshMootie of lot 124 #74 village, Berbice, 18-year-old Deodatt Dott of Lot 98 #71 Village, Corentyne Berbice, 49-year-old Harripaul Parsram of Lot 164 #71 Village, Corentyne Berbice and 37-year-old Nirone Yacoob of Lot 65 #67 Village, Corentyne Berbice.
    They were all remanded to prison.
    During last week, two of the accused confessed to law enforcement that they were ordered by an overseas based Guyanese businessman to kill Narinedat who had choked and slapped the businessman after he had made sexual advances towards him.
    The other two suspects also admitted their involvement in the crime.
    Additionally, two females are also expected to be charged with perverting the course of justice after trying to bribe investigators with $4M to have the accused released.
    Meanwhile, investigators are making efforts to get the overseas-based Guyanese businessman back in Guyana for questioning. He is likely to be charged with murder.
    The case was transferred to the Springlands Magistrates Court forDecember 8, 2016.
