The Police in ‘C’ Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding a death of a Recess, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara, woman whose burnt remains were found in a dried canal behind her home on Tuesday, November 22, 2016.
Commander of ‘C’ Division Marlon Chapman has confirmed that the remains of 63-year-old Rajpattie Singh was discovered just after 11:00 hours by her daughter in law who lives with her.
News Room understands that earlier in the day the deceased and her daughter-in-law had an argument, after which the daughter-in-law left the home and returned and found a note. She told police that she followed the instruction on the note and discovered her mother-in-law’s lifeless body behind their home, burnt beyond recognition.
The police were called in and Singh’s body was picked up and taken to the Mahaicony Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
