The Operation was conducted at the Incinerator at Princess Street, Georgetown.

He further disclosed that the items destroyed under the watchful eyes of heavily armed ranks were gathered over the period of two years and are no longer engaging the attention of the courts.

“The cases date back about two years; cases from last year and this year and it would’ve been cases coming from the Narcotics branch as well as cases made in the police division. These are all cases where the matter has been disposed of, either by sentencing or dismissed or so” De Hearte said.

Also, present at today’s operation was the Guyana Fire Service should there be any mishap in the burning of the items.
