Fly Jamaica, CAL aircraft grounded after minor accident

The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Cheddi Jagan International Airport Corporation (CJIAC) are currently investigating an incident which occurred around 7:50 hrs this morning resulting in two aircraft becoming grounded.

News Room was told that the wing of an incoming Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) aircraft struck the tail of a parked Fly Jamaica aircraft which was being prepared for boarding, resulting in damages to both. As such, neither of the planes would be allowed to leave Guyana until an investigation is completed.

No one was injured, the Airport authorities said.

Investigations are ongoing.
