    The Police in ‘C’ Division are investigating a fatal accident that took place on the Mahaicony Public Road at about 11:00 hours on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

    Dead is Esme Rockcliffe of Le Enterprise, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara who is believed to be in her late 50s.

    The News Room understands that the accident involves two minibuses and a motor car which was allegedly travelling at a fast rate.

    Although information on the accident is still sketchy, News Room was told that four females and four males sustained serious injuries. The females were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where Rockliffe succumbed.

    The males; one of whom is a driver of one of the minibuses were admitted to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital.

    According to a source, three of the injured persons are nationals of Trinidad, Grenada and St. Vincent who are currently pursuing studies at the University of Guyana.

    More details on this latest road accident will be provided as it becomes available.
