The police are said to be investigating a shooting incident which occurred in ‘B’ field Sophia minutes ago.
News Room was told that the man; 22-year-old Gavin Ramlall of Chateau-Margot, East Coast Demerara (E.C.D) was moments ago shot to the thigh.
The man reportedly told the police that he was robbed of his phone and other items during the process. It is unclear what the nature of the man’s business was in the community but the police investigations are ongoing.
Ramlall was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where doctors commenced providing him with medical attention.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that efforts are being made to transfer the injured man to a private hospital.
