A senior police officer confirmed that the force is indeed mourning the passing of the police corporal. The senior officer indicated that the welfare officer of the force was with the rank and his family for the most part of today and efforts were being made by the Guyana Police Force to have the rank transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.

The rank was stationed at the Albion Police Station where he functioned as the Subordinate in charge of that station.

He leaves to mourn his wife and two young children.

On the night of the incident, reports indicate that the animals; a heifer and her calf were lying on the darkened roadway when the accident occurred. As a result of the impact, the vehicle was tossed into the nearby waterway.

The rank suffered from fractures to both hands, shoulders and his lower extremities. He was pulled from the vehicle by citizens who rushed him to the New Amsterdam Hospital where he was admitted and subsequently transferred to the GPHC.
