One dead, one injured in early morning accident

Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred about 01:30 hrs this morning on the Friendship/Buxton Public Road E.C.D resulting in the death of a so far an unidentified male.

The driver, 21yrs of Annandale E.C.D, of the Motor car PVV 4355 was found to be over the legal alcohol limit. He is presently at the Georgetown Public Hospital seeking medical attention under police guard, after complaining of feeling unwell.

Investigation revealed that the Motor car was proceeding west along the southern side of the road, when it was alleged that two motor cars proceeding in the opposite direction, drove into the lane of PVV 4355, resulting in the driver swerving left and collided with the pedestrian who was walking on the southern parapet.

The pedestrian was rushed to the G.P.H.C, in an unconscious state by Police Ranks along with one Emily Persaud, 17yrs of Annandale E.C.D, who was an occupant of the car.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead on arrival and Persaud is admitted in a stable condition with abrasions about her body.
