The Private Sector Commission is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Eon Caesar, President of the Guyana Manufacturing and Services Association and Executive Member of the Private Sector Commission.  Mr. Caesar was a stalwart son of the soil and dedicated member of Guyana’s private sector.

Eon, a graduate of the University of the West Indies and Managing Director of Safeway Security, became a member of the Council of the Private Sector Commission in April of 2016 on his elevation to the Presidency of Member Association, the GMSA.  He quickly showed his mettle and was appointed Chairman of the Commission’s Security Sub-Committee, thus becoming a member of the Executive Management Committee of the PSC.

Eon served his country with distinction both as the President of the GMSA, where he tackled pressing problems faced by the manufacturing sector, and as a member of the PSC’s Executive where he addressed the cross-cutting issue of security, meeting with the country’s leaders in the security sector and offering innovative solutions to identified problems.

Eon Caesar was destined for greater things and his untimely passing leaves a void which will be felt for a long time to come.  The Private Sector Commission offers condolences to his grieving widow, Saudia, and mother Barbara, his two young daughters, his sisters and the rest of his family and friends.

The 47-year-old GMSA President passed away in Trinidad on Friday last following a severe illness.
