A police constable who was stationed at the Mabaruma Police station died on Monday.

23417 Constable Bagot, age 19 years old was hospitalised following an accident earlier this month.

The News Room was informed that Constable Bagot at the time of the accident was using an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) to conduct police patrol duties when he fell off.

He was taken to the Mabaruma Hospital where he was treated and sent away. However, he subsequently fell ill and was sent to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

At the Georgetown Public Hospital, several tests were conducted where it was found that Bagot suffered from internal injuries, something which the Mabaruma Hospital failed to pick up.

23517 Constable Bagot who hails from the West Coast Demerara, has only been with the Guyana Police Force for about a month.

This morning his Divisional Commander, Senior Superintendent Boodram described him as a very quiet, dedicated and disciplined police constable who had great potential.
