The police are hunting for three men who robbed a woman and murdered her brother; 27-year-old Jermaine Scott of Toucan Street, North East La Penitence, who rushed to her rescue on Tuesday night.

The sister, 39-year-old Simone Scott also disclosed that she noticed the dark blue car before the incident occurred, however, she was unaware that the occupants had evil intentions.“I need justice for me and my brother because I is the one that could ah get the death,” the woman said as she described the perpetrator to police officers during a visit to the home on Wednesday morning.

The victims’ mother told media operatives that “we just close up the shop and ah was bathing and I just hear my daughter, she and the woman coming in from work and when they meet somewhere there (indicate where the incident occurred) a boy come and put one cuff …and the other woman, she like tek out a knife which she always walk with…” and stab the boy.

Scott who only got married three weeks ago and was expecting his first child in a few months was shot to the chest. After Scott was shot, he reportedly still attempted to go after the men who were attacking his family and could not make it as he stumbled and eventually collapsed in the arms of his cousin. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Today ‘A’ Division Deputy Commander Calvin Brutus and a team of police visited the relatives at their home and assured them that everything will be done to find the perpetrators.

The incident took place at approximately 23:05hrs on Tuesday night. Relatives described the dead man as very quiet and someone who works hard for the things he desires in life.

Police sources told the News Room that they are working on information they received regarding the incident and relatives have since indicated that should they see the men again they would be able to positively identify them.

The investigations into the matter are ongoing.
