The police in ‘A’ Division today honoured its ranks for outstanding performances during the year 2016.

The ranks both senior and junior, had lunch today with the Top Cop, Commander and Deputy Commander of the division.

Police Sergeant Hubert Henry of the Criminal investigation Department and Constable Richard Trotz of the Traffic Department were adjudged the best cop and runner-up best cop respectively of the division.

Other police ranks from the level of constable to Senior Superintendents were also awarded for their roles and functions within the Police ‘A’ Division that led to the success that the division has recorded.

For their exemplary performance this year, the Commissioner of Police also gifted the division four hundred thousand dollars. The News Room later learned that the funds will be used to contribute to a staff party for all the ranks within ‘A’ Division from Dora to Conversation Tree.

Assistant Commissioner of police Clifton Hicken also addressed the event on Friday afternoon. Present too was Chief magistrate Ann Mc Lennon and several other members of the public and business community who have been supporting the Guyana police force.

Cash, trophies, hampers, certificates and special works of thanks were given to those who have been making the division manageable.
