Decomposed body of man found; Days after son’s body fished out of canal

The decomposed body of an East Canje, Berbice man was discovered in a house a day after the lifeless body of his son was found floating in a canal at Cumberland, also in East Canje, Berbice.

Dead is Isbarran Budram of Reliance, East Canje, Berbice.

News Room understands that the man’s body was discovered earlier today by his nephew who went in search of him after not seeing him for several days and also to inform him of his son’s death as he does not reside with his son nor his wife.

During a visit to the area, undertakers from the Arokium Funeral Home were seen removing the body from the house while detectives were seen making observations of the scene.

A nephew of Budhram disclosed that he last saw his uncle on Monday, December 19, 2016. He related that he left to go check on his uncle but ended up doing other errands. According to the nephew, he didn’t inquire about him until this morning when he made the discovery.

News Room was told that the man would usually consume alcohol. A post-mortem is expected to be conducted on Thursday, while a result of a post mortem conducted on his son, Isbarran Bhognarine indicated that he died from drowning.

Bhognarine’s body was discovered floating in a canal at Canjie on Monday afternoon.

Investigations into both deaths are ongoing.
