Digicel (Guyana) has thrown its support behind this weekend’s Boxing Day horse-race meeting, organised and staged by the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club.
The company has undertaken to sponsor the E and Lower race, which has a top prize of $500,000 and a trophy. Justice Cecil Kennard said the club is extremely grateful for the continuation of the partnership with Digicel, noting that corporate support is crucial to the success of the event.
Eight races are carded for the day, with action set to start at noon. Rivalry is expected in the L Class Non-Winners; E and Lower; West Indian-bred Maidens and Guyana Bred H1 and Lower; Two-year-old Guyana-bred Maidens; L Class Open; B and Lower; G1 and Lower; and J1 and Lower and Two-year-old Guyana-bred.
