Two men were this morning picked up by the police in connection with the ‘masked’ shooting to death of two cousins at Friendship, East Bank Demerara (E.B.D) on Sunday, January 01, 2017.
Police sources have confirmed that the suspects who are both 23 years old were picked up in the community of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown after the police, acting on information received, swooped down on the location.
The News Room was also informed that one of the suspects is employed while the other is unemployed.
On Sunday, a poultry vendor whose name was given as ‘Fix Up’ as well as his cousin, Hazrudeen Hussain, a final year pharmacy student and butcher of Little Biaboo Creek, Mahaica were killed hours after they participated in a sport of ‘Game fowl fighting’ at Friendship on the East Bank Demerara, the same village where the shooting took place.
Singh was shot to the forehead and died on the spot while his cousin who was shot to the neck and succumbed while receiving medical attention.
Police are said to be looking for other persons who took part in the sporting game as it is believed that the shooting was directly related.
