In Observance of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s 43rd anniversary, a Puja and Satsangh was held yesterday (Sunday, January 8, 2017) at the Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud Dharmic Sanskritik Kendra, Campbellville, Georgetown.
In an inspiring Katha Pandit Jagmohan Persaud said the best religion anyone could be involved with would be one that gives joy to others, noting that the greatest sin would be to take away the happiness of another.
He reminded of the indelible contributions of the late Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud, noting that he went beyond the limits and was more concerned about giving than receiving.
Pandit Jagmohan Persaud urged that those gathered and others receiving his message learn to appreciate themselves since we must first have a love for ourselves before we can love others.” I want to make this statement here… every human being, you are unique in your own style, you’re a gift from God, you’re special from God and if you do not start appreciating yourself, if you do not start liking yourself, you don’t start appreciating who you are, you will never be able to appreciate anyone, you would never be able to appreciate anything, that includes God even.”
Meantime, President of the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha, Dr. Vindhya Persaud said life brings with it new opportunities and we must seize them. She urged persons to always look at life with a positive outlook. Reminiscing on her father, the Late Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud, she said he was never a pessimist “that is why the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha survived, no challenge ever made him cowar, no difficulty ever triumphed over him and you know when he got Parkinson’s, one place he went was the Puja room, always, and that to me is the kind of spirit we should all have.”
Dr. Persaud urged too that when one achieves the success they must share it with others, noting that when we as humans are on the path of life, we set a path for others, stressing the need for selflessness and not selfishness.
