Less than 72 hours after he was remanded to prison by Magistrate Ann McLennan for illegal possession of arms and ammunition, 28- year-old Caesar Muhammad Gonsalves’ Facebook page is active.

It was brought to the attention of the News Room that this morning the remanded prisoner updated his Facebook Page.

If indeed Gonsalves is the one who updated his Facebook page it then concretes the worrying and dangerous reality that prisoners despite of which section of the facility they are locked down, somehow manage to have access to gadgets.

The Post on the man’s Facebook Page reads “Que Sera Sera” which in Spanish means; “WHATEVER WILL BE, WILL BE” and translates to “THE FUTURE EVENTS ARE OUT OF THE SPEAKER’S CONTROL.”

Gonsalves was captured in his apartment on Thursday with a rifle and ammunition without being the holder of a license to carry same.

He was described by persons who live in the Tucville area as someone who is unemployed and usually has many questionable characters visiting him.

The police searched his apartment following a warrant that they secured from the court. He is to return to court on February 24.

On Sunday, when contacted a senior police source denied having any knowledge that the man might have been granted High Court bail after he was remanded on Friday afternoon.

The Guyana Prison Service is said to be investigating the Facebook Post.
