Guns found in separate Amerindian Villages; two arrested

The Police in ‘F’ Division on Thursday took two Indigenous men into custody for possession of unlicensed guns.

The News Room learnt that in the village of Toka, North Rupununi, Region Nine, the cops found a 20 Gauge Shotgun with several spent shells and one live round for which one man was arrested.

Later in the village of the Aishalton, another Amerindian community, another man was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed shotgun.

The Police are moving to bring the men to Bartica where they will be held over the weekend and processed for court on Monday, January 23, 2017.

Ballistics tests would also be conducted on the weapons.
