The Police in ‘B’ Division have arrested three persons in Berbice after police found 14 pounds of marijuana at one of the men’s Home in Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme, East Canje Berbice.
The three men have been identified as 27-year-old Mitchell Henry of Lot 868 Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme, 26 year old Ryan Jameer of Lot 669 Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme and Michael Henry.
News Room was told that following a tip-off, a party of police officers went to the home of Mitchel Henry and in the presence of Ryan Jameer and Michael Henry at about 20:30 hours last night (Monday, January 23, 2017), the officers found a red tub on a verandah with eleven black bulky plastic bags and two transparent bulky plastic bags.
According to a police source, when the bags were opened, the officers found a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be marijuana. The three men were arrested, cautioned about the offence committed and taken to the Central Police Station in New Amsterdam where the items were weighed in their presence and amounted to 14 pounds.
Further investigations are ongoing.
