The Guyana Police Force got their first three points of the Limacol football tournament with a 1-0 win over Camptown on Monday evening at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda.

Police continued their trend of miss timed passes during the course of the match, while Camptown never really found their footing and seemed to be out of rhythm as a unit. It was Police who struck in the first half of the match with a goal from Quincy Holder in the 32nd minute.

The goal would prove to be a game winner after a scoreless second half that saw both teams having trouble finding opening players as well as keeping possession of the ball.

Meanwhile, in the earlier match of the night, Winners Connection and Northern Rangers drew nil-all in what can be described as a physically ugly match-up as five yellow cards were issued. The total cards issued in the game were the most so far in a single game of the tournament, a clear demonstration of the physicality between the two teams.

Winners Connection were issued with three, while Northern Rangers had two. Meanwhile, defending champs Milerock will be in action on February 1 at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda, when they take on Grove Hi Tech from 18:30h. The second game of the night will feature Western Tigers against Eagles United.
