Corentyne man stabbed six times by drinking buddy

Members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) are hunting for a Corentyne Berbice man who stabbed his friend several times about his body at a rum shop before escaping, on Monday, January 30, 2017.

The injured man has been identified as 26-year-old Martin Rambarack of #1 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, while the suspect who resides in the same area name was given as Simon Persaud.

News Room understands that on the night of the stabbing, Rambarack and his friend Persaud was at Banana Shop located on the # 1 Public Road on the Corentyne when they got into a heated argument following a misunderstanding.

According to a police source, during the misunderstanding, Persaud became annoyed and pulled out a knife he had in his pocket and dealt Rambarack six stabs about his body before escaping.

Rambarack was left bleeding profusely and public spirited citizens picked him up and rushed him to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital where he was admitted.

The News Room was told that after the incident, checks were made for the suspect but he was nowhere to be found.

The police are combing the Corentyne are to have the suspect arrested.
