Trinidad and Tobago Red Force came out in full force on Tuesday, dismantling the West Indies Under-19 team in Group A action of the Super50 competition in Antigua.
Batting first, West Indies Under-19s were shot out for a meagre 58 in 31 overs; defending champions Red Force in reply surged to 59-2 in 10.2 overs to complete the win. Opener Evin Lewis and Nicholas Alexis made 19 apiece during the brief run-chase. Earlier, the Under-19s hardly put up a fight, as they crumbled against the accuracy of the Red Force bowlers.
Emmanuel Stewart topscored with 30 (60 balls, 3x4s), while extras were 13. No other batsman got past Bhaskar Yadram’s six, as Sheldon Cottrell claimed 3-6 off seven overs. Support came from Khary Pierre and Roshan Primus, who bagged 2-16 and 2-20 respectively.
