The administration of the Guyana Police Force following its performance meeting earlier this week, took a decision to shift a few officers around to other divisions.

The News Room has been able to confirm that Senior Superintendent, Kevin Adonis who once headed the police ‘G’ Division- Essequibo coast and Islands and later transferred to Berbice, is now functioning in the police ‘C’ Division as the Deputy Commander.

Adonis after his removal from ‘G’ Division acted as the Commander in ‘B’ Division while Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ian Amsterdam was on leave. When Amsterdam returned, Adonis then served as the Deputy Commander during the leave of Senior Superintendent Errol Watts, when Watts returned, Adonis was asked to remain and serve as the third in command of the division.

Senior Superintendent Langevine who once served as the second in command at the Immigration Department before he was asked to serve as the second in command in ‘C’ Division will be returning to his substantive post.

Other movements which took effect were that of Cadet Officer Pilgrim who is now posted to the Force Headquarters and Cadet Officer Gordon who is now stationed at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

Later this year, there will some other movements when several senior officers head into pre-retirement leave including persons who are holding the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police.
