Motorcyclist hospitalized after slamming into parked car

A Corentyne man is now a patient at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital following an accident on the Albion Public Road, Corentyne on Sunday February 05, 2017.

The injured man has been identified as 21-year-old Avinesh Famlall of Nigg Settlement Corentyne.

News Room understands that Famlall was driving motorcycle CH 6539 which is owned by his friend when he lost control and collided with a parked motor car along the Albion Public Road, Corentyne.

According to a police source at about 1:30 hours this morning Famall was driving the motorcycle east along the northern carriage way at a fast rate when he lost control of the motorcycle and slammed into the left front door of motor car PNN 1194.

Famlall fell onto the roadway and received injuries to his head and about his body.

The News Room was told that Famlall was rushed to the Port Mourant Public Hospital in an unconscious state by ranks from the Albion Police Station who arrived on the scene moments after the collision. However, he was later transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital for further treatment and was admitted.

Famlall’s condition is presently listed as stable.

Meanwhile, the police in ‘B’ Division are conducting investigations to determine what may have caused the accident and if possible charges are likely to be laid against the injured man.
