CPG officer attempts suicide after brutally chopping ex-wife and lover

The Police in ‘B’ Division are investigating an attempted murder and suicide committed by a Community Policing Group (CPG) officer at Bush Lot Farm on the Corentyne yesterday (Sunday, February 05, 2017).

53-year-old Narine Permauloo on Sunday dealt his ex-wife, 35-year-old Zaheeda Permauloo and her lover whose name was only given as Mahendra several chops about their bodies before attempting to commit suicide.

The home where the incident occurred

News Room understands that the incident occurred at about 17:30 hours on Sunday while the three were consuming alcohol.

According to information received from Zaheeda’s son, Neshan, he was not at home when the incident occurred.

He noted that he was at a wake house and when he returned home, several persons were there. Upon investigating, he saw his mother and her lover lying on the floor in a pool of blood while his father Narine was laying several feet away.

According to information received, Narine, his ex-wife and her lover were all taken to the Port Mourant Hospital for medical attention but Narine and Mahendra were transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital as their conditions were listed as critical.

Investigations are ongoing.
