A Community Policing Group (CPG) officer, who brutally chopped his ex-wife and her lover about their bodies before attempting suicide, has succumbed at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital.
Dead is 53-year-old Narine Permauloo of Bush Lot Farm on the Corentyne.
News Room earlier reported that the man dealt his ex-wife, 35-year-old Zabeeda Permauloo and her lover whose name was only given as Mahendra, several chops about their bodies following an argument.
News Room understands that the three were consuming alcohol after which an argument ensued at about 17:30 hours on Sunday after which Permauloo armed himself with a cutlass and committed the act. He then attempted to commit suicide but was rushed along with the other two persons to the Port Mourant Hospital for medical attention.
Narine and Mahendra were later transferred to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital as their conditions were listed as critical, where Narine later succumbed.
Commander of ‘B’ Division, Ian Amsterdam told the News Room that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
