The police have issued a wanted bulletin for two persons in connection with the death of eight-month-old Romaine Skeete of Kaneville Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara.

Skeete was burnt to death on January 23, 2017, at his home and the incident is now being treated as a murder.

In a statement on Wednesday (February 08, 2017), the Guyana Police Force (GPF) says Keon Ashby of Kaneville, E.B.D and ‘Waynie’ or ‘Shark’ (only names given) of Diamond, E.B.D are wanted for questioning in relation to “murder” which occurred on 2017-01-23 at Kaneville, E.B.D.

News Room previously reported that a 21-year-old of 4th Field Lot 906 Kaneville was taken into custody in Mahdia, Region Eight following information received in relation to the same incident.

On January 23, 2017, the baby and her family were asleep when they woke up to the home on fire.

The older persons in the family raced to safety forgetting the baby behind. The police expressed an interest in the men after the grandmother of the child informed the police that the village was attracting suspicious characters and that these characters were carrying arms and ammunition, something the police were able to confirm when they conducted searches in various parts of the community.

Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Keon Ashby and ‘Waynie or Shark’  are asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 227-2128, 226-1389, 226-7065, 225-6411, 225-2227, 225-0575, 911 or the nearest police station.
