The Police in C Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 20-year-old East Coast Demerara man who was killed in an accident on the Liliendaal East Coast Demerara Public Road this morning (Saturday February 11, 2017).
Dead is 20-year-old Ryan Reynolds of Ogle, East Coast Demerara (E.C.D).
News Room understands that the young man was heading home at about 3:30 hours when he lost control of his motor vehicle and eventually ended up in a nearby trench.
According to Traffic Chief Dion Moore, Reynolds was heading east along Railway Embankment in motor car PJJ 2706 when he lost control of the motor car and slammed into lamp pole and eventually into the trench.
The News Room was told that during the accident Reynolds who was alone in the motor car, was flung several feet away from the point of impact onto the parapet. He was later picked up and taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Although it is not clear as to what may have caused the accident, the News Room was informed that the possibility exists that the deceased might have been speeding and fell asleep behind the wheels.
