DEVELOPING STORY: Kenneth Joseph missing, police commence search

The police have launched a search for the body of Kenneth Joseph who went missing on Sunday (February 26, 2017) after the boat which he was driving collided with a larger boat in the Pomeroon River.

The News Room has been reliably informed that Joseph, a 52-year-old farmer of Grant, Anna Regina, Lower Pomeroon River disappeared without a trace on Sunday after the collision which occurred at around 20:00hrs on Sunday.

Police sources told the News Room that Joseph along with another man, Leon George were paddling their boat described as “a small wooden Balahoo” south on the eastern side of the Pomeroon River while a boat being driven by 24-year-old Rendell Cameroon which was proceeding in the opposite direction collided.

Kenneth and George fell out of the boat and while George was rescued, Kenneth went under the water and up to when this story was posted, has not been found.

The News Room was told that the boat which was being driven by the 24-year-old belongs to his sister who is a teacher and is being powered by a 15 horse power engine.

The 24-year-old is currently in police custody as the search for Joseph continues.
