The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) season will get underway on March 19 with the ‘Reaction’ Drags meet, and corporate support has already started to roll in.

On Wednesday afternoon, Mohamed’s Enterprise donated a cheque for an undisclosed amount to the GMR&SC to aid in the success of the event, set for the South Dakota Circuit.

GMR&SC official, Desiree Lee, was on hand to receive the donation from Mohamed’s Enterprise representative Udoh Kanu, and she expressed gratitude to the company for the kind gesture. She said it will do a long way in ensuring fans are provided with the best possible atmosphere on race day.

GMR&SC President Rameez Mohamed has stated that they are expecting a big tournament since the drivers are fascinated with the new system in place and are eager to race.

Over 100 driver, including a team Suriname, are set to battle for supremacy in the various categories. An international meet is set to take place later this year, so this event will give a good gauge of what to expect going forward.

Action will start at 09:00h with the free runs, followed by qualifying an hour later, and the knockout rounds from 11:00h.
