Ramdhani into top three on Canadian circuit

Guyana’s top badminton player Narayan Ramdhani has broken into the top three in the Men’s Singles division in Canada, after campaigning just seven months in the country.

Ramdhani, Guyana’s Sun Burst and National Men’s champion, who is currently training and studying at the Shuttlesport Badminton Academy in Vancouver BC, Canada, started the year ranked number 10, and after two tournaments he surged seven spots.

To date, Ramdhani has played in three competitions since arriving in Canada, reaching the semi-finals in all three. He finished third in the Vancouver Island University Under-23 Circuit tournament in November last; the BC Senior Circuit 2-Shuttlesport Open and Under-23 tournament in February; and the BC Senior Circuit 1-VRC Jack Underhill tournament in March.

The Guyana Badminton Association said it is extremely happy with Ramdhani’s progress after just coming out of the Junior category and playing on the Senior circuit as of 2017.
