27-year-old dies in East Bank Accident

Nizamudeen Muhammed lost his life in the wee hours of Tuesday morning (March 28, 2017), after the vehicle which he was driving allegedly collided with the metal rail of a culvert and toppled several times before striking a lamp pole and coming to a halt.

Muhammed of 616 Section ‘A’, Block ‘Y’, Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara (E.B.D) met his demise at about 01:00h. this morning on the Land of Canaan Public Road, E.B.D.

Initial enquiries disclosed that Muhammed who was proceeding north along the western side of the road in motor car PRR 4768, allegedly collided with the metal rail of a culvert, after which he lost control, causing the vehicle to topple several times and came to a halt after it struck a lamp pole, on the said side of the road.

The 27-year-old driver who was the lone occupant of the car was flung out of the vehicle. He was picked up in an unconscious state, taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre and was pronounced dead on arrival.

His vehicle received extensive damage.

The body is at Lyken’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
