Infantino turns sod for FIFA Forward Project

FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Guyana on Tuesday morning and immediately went about activities during his short visit. Infantino’s first stop was at Providence where he, in the company of Guyana Football Federation President Wayne Forde and Minister of Sport Nicolette Henry, turned the sod for the FIFA Forward Project, construction of which is set to start soon. 

Next on Infantino’s five-hour visit is a courtesy call of President David Granger, followed by a meeting with CARICOM’s Secretary General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque. Infantino and his team will then visit a Grassroots Training Session at the Carifesta Sports Complex, and will later have a press conference at the Pegasus Hotel. 

The FIFA boss is being accompanied by a delegation of six persons, including Véron Mosengo-Omba, FIFA Director of Member Associations and Development for Africa and the Caribbean; Mattias Grafstrom, FIFA Advisor to the President and Jasmin Frei, FIFA’s Office Manager, Executive Office of the President.
