At around 16:50 hrs yesterday (Wednesday, April 12, 2017) pedestrian Nazeem Ally called ‘Boy’ was killed after being struck down by a motorcar as he was walking along the Montrose Railway Line.
Nazeem Ally is said to be a resident of Lot 9 Cherry Field, La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara.
While the details surrounding the man’s death remain sketchy, the News Room has been informed that the driver of the motor car PTT 1121 which struck Ally was tested positive for being above the legal limit of alcohol consumption.
Following the accident, he was arrested and detained. His vehicle is presently lodged at a police station on the East Coast of Demerara.
