Guyana closed the CARIFTA Games with two bronze medals on Monday’s final day in Curacao.

Chantoba Bright, who a day earlier won gold in the Girls Under-18 Long Jump, finished on Monday with bronze in the Girls Under-18 Triple Jump. The Linden based athletes recorded a leap of 12.32 metres for the third place finish.

Meanwhile, Compton Caesar, after a historic 100 metres gold medal win, finished his Carifta campaign with bronze in the Boys Under-20 200 metres with a time of 21.57s.

In other results of the day, Matthew McKenzie finished sixth in the Boys 5000 metres, while the Girls Under-18 4×400 metres finished sixth as well.

Samuel Lynch finished fifth in the Boys Under-20 800 metres, while Anfernee Headecker who won silver two days ago, finished seventh in the same event.

With the final two medals, Guyana’s total medal count stands at eight with four being gold, one silver and three bronze. The team is expected to return on April 21 to a motorcade around the city.
