Albouystown man in hot water for gun, ammo

After attempting to flee from law enforcement officers over the weekend, Randy Bharat a forty-year-old was arrested.

He is being processed for court for being in possession of one Baikal .32 pistol with a magazine and seven .32 rounds of ammunition, one beretta magazine with nine 9mm live rounds, one .38 Round and 89 grams of cannabis.

The police are of the view that the man uses the weapon as a form of protection for his illegal trade of sale and purchase of narcotics.

When the police arrived at his location in Albouystown, Georgetown at the weekend, they observed that he dropped a bag which he had in his possession, ran and jumped a fence and then made good his escape from the area.

However, the law men gave chase and he was apprehended and a search of the bag was conducted in his presence where the items were found.

He was told of the offence and he is to be placed before the court shortly. The weapon would tested to see if it is linked to any crime scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
